NORMAN — Since 1998, Sherri Coale has led the Oklahoma women's basketball team to 16 NCAA Tournament appearances, three Final Fours and one national runner-up finish.
But on Wednesday, Coale did something she hasn't done since that time — lose a Bedlam game in Norman.
Despite having five players finish with double-figure scoring, the No. 20-ranked Sooners fell to Oklahoma State 71-69 at Lloyd Noble Center. With the victory, the Cowgirls swept this season's Bedlam series. OU lost the Jan. 16 matchup in Stillwater 73-42.
“Oklahoma State has a really good team, and they made some big shots at big times in the second half,” Coale said.
