Bedlam football 2017 was played on Nov. 4. That’s a change from recent history but not a total disregard for the past. The Bedlam football series has been played at various stages of the autumn, from late September to early October to late October to early November.
Bedlam had become a regular-season finale in the last decade-plus, with the demise of the OU-Nebraska series and with the ascent of OSU’s program. Bedlam over the last eight or nine years has become more important than OU-Texas in terms of Big 12 supremacy, so it made sense to play it on the high stage of Thanksgiving weekend or the first week of December.
