Bedlam basketball: OU broadcaster Toby Rowland undergoes back surgery

STILLWATER — A regular member of the Sooners’ road crew was absent Saturday.

OU broadcaster Toby Rowland was out for the game after undergoing back surgery on Friday afternoon.

Rowland announced his surgery on Twitter on Saturday morning, saying he will be out resting for a period of time. His tweet was met with a lot of love from Sooner fans, including a message from former Sooner star Buddy Hield.

Tom Dore joined Kevin Henry in Rowland’s place. Dore was a long-time Chicago Bulls broadcaster, calling games from 1991-2008.
