Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield apologized Monday morning for planting an OU flag at the 50-yard line of Ohio Stadium after the Sooners' 31-16 win over the Buckeyes.
"It was an emotional game," Mayfield said. "I did not mean for it to be disrespectful toward any Ohio State people at all."
Mayfield added that planting the flag at the 50-yard line is something done in the OU-Texas series and that he got caught up in the moment of the big win.
"It was something I should have done in the locker room and not in the middle of the field, so I apologize for that," Mayfield added.
