Before he even took questions Monday evening, special teams coordinator Jay Boulware asked and answered his own question.
“Returners,” he said. “(Jeff) Badet, CeeDee Lamb are the two guys ahead. Done.”
Coach Lincoln Riley said as much earlier in the day in his first weekly news conference of the season, specifically mentioning that Lamb was emerging as the best punt return candidate while Badet was a solid option at kick return.
Badet returned 15 kicks of 344 yards at Kentucky last season.
“The names that I fully expect to see out there CeeDee Lamb, Jeff Badet, Marcelias Sutton, Mykel Jones and Rodney Anderson,” Riley said Monday.
