OSU running back Chuba Hubbard was named Preseason Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and OU quarterback Spencer Rattler was named Preseason Big 12 Newcomer of the Year. The Cowboys and Sooners also had five players each named to the Preseason All-Big 12 team.
Hubbard led the nation in rushing yards (2,094) and attempts (301) and tied for third in touchdowns (21) in 2019. He also added 23 receptions for 198 yards. The Cowboys finished the season 8-5 and a 24-21 loss to Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl.
Rattler is tabbed as Newcomer of the Year after spending last season as the team's third-string quarterback behind Jalen Hurts and Tanner Mordecai.
