Following President Donald Trump's controversial comments and tweets about the NFL earlier this weekend, former OU running back Adrian Peterson was part of the widespread effort among NFL players to peacefully protest the national anthem by kneeling, sitting or remaining in the locker room prior to Sunday's games.

Peterson, who is in his first year with the New Orleans Saints, sat on the bench with teammates Cam Jordan, Mark Ingram, Reggie Bush, Kenny Vaccaro, Chris Banjo, Alex Okafor, De'Vante Harris, Sheldon Rankins and Brandon Coleman prior to the win against the Carolina Panthers.
