WACO, Texas — In the final seconds of the first quarter, Abdul Adams gave Oklahoma a jolt when he took the handoff in the end zone and didn't stop until he was celebrating in the opposite end zone after a 99-yard run.
Adams' touchdown—which put the Sooners up 21-7—was the longest offensive play in school history.
The previous record was 96, set by Jeff Frazier on a run against North Texas in 1995 and Buck McPhail on a run against Kansas State in 1951.
McPhail's long run did not end in a touchdown.
