NORMAN — After OU’s 4-3 loss to North Texas on Saturday, Kinzie Hansen went and talked to herself in the mirror.
The loss meant the Sooners and the Mean Green had to play again right away, and the freshman first baseman had just gone 1-for-3 and grounded out with the bases loaded to end an inning. So she gave herself a pep talk to get her mind right.
“When I went up to the plate,” Hansen said of her changed mentality in the second game. “I was thinking, ‘I’m going to do this for my teammates because I have their back and they need me right now.
