Jalen Hurts was obviously the story for Oklahoma in the big win over Houston, but the skill positions showed out as well. RB Trey Sermon had a nice game with over 100 yards of total offense. As a whole, the RBs didn’t get a ton of touches, but they produce when they got the call. 10 Sooners caught passes including redshirt sophomore Charleston Rambo who hauled in 3 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown. Harrison gives his thoughts on the new-look WR core in Norman.

Oklahoma’s defense has been awful in recent years, but Alex Grinch’s first game as defensive coordinator went pretty well. Three early 3-and-outs and good play by the defensive line set the tone vs. Houston. Big 12 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year Kenneth Murray was all over the place as the linebacker had 13 tackles. The secondary had some moments, but certainly remains a work in progress, especially at cornerback.
