Why is Anthony Davis a New Orleans villain?

Anthony Davis soon will be a Los Angeles Laker, traded from New Orleans for a bunch of good ballplayers, a bunch of good draft picks and the Santa Monica Pier.

Davis got his wish. He wanted to join the Lakers’ clown show, and the white makeup is on its way. A Davis/LeBron marriage resets the balance of power in the NBA, but that’s nothing new. It happens every summer.

Chris Paul. Kawhi Leonard. Paul George. Davis. All have virtually forced their teams to trade them in the last 24 months. All became villains, strangers in their own land, because they let it be known, both to their employer and to their fan base, that they didn’t plan to stick around.
