As Thunder general manager Sam Presti left his house to meet forward Danilo Gallinari for dinner, a set of books in his living room caught his eye.
“Wow,” Presti said, recounting the moment at his preseason press conference Thursday, “what a long, strange trip this has been.”
Gallinari, 31, only joined the Thunder via trade this summer. But the books and a young Gallinari indirectly played a role in bringing Presti’s family together.
At dinner in Oklahoma City earlier this summer, Presti told Gallinari the story.
“He got a kick out of it,” Presti said.
