Thunder waives former Oklahoma State guard Markel Brown

The Thunder waived former Oklahoma State guard Markel Brown just days after signing him entering training camp.

Brown, who played in Turkey last season and averaged 17.2 points per game for the Oklahoma City Blue during the 2017-18 season, was signed Tuesday.

Players who are signed in preseason are often waived in order to play for the G League team of their respective franchise, or to pursue roster spots with other franchises. The Thunder currently has 14 guarantee contracts and one open roster spot, including the partially guaranteed contract of Justin Patton.

Thunder preseason training camp begins Oct.
