Thunder trading Perry Jones to Celtics

The Oklahoma City Thunder is sending Perry Jones III, a second-round pick and cash to the Boston Celtics.

The Oklahoman's Darnelly Mayberry reports that the Thunder will receive a protected second-round pick and a trade exception of close to $2.1 million in the deal. Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald first reported the trade.

The 6-foot-11 forward was slated to make $2.03 million with the Thunder in 2015-16. The move takes the Thunder's roster down to 14 players, potentially opening up a spot for 2014 first-round pick Josh Huestis, who spent his first season with the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA D-League.
