Thunder not much better against sub-par teams

It became a mantra even if it wasn’t meant to be last season. The trio of Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony and Paul George repeated it from the beginning. Next thing you know, the sun was setting on a disappointing campaign.

We’ll figure it out. We’re figuring each other out. We’ll get there.

The 30-18 Thunder of this season is certainly not the nonchalant group of 2017-18. It’s a more talented team with improved defense and depth.

But how improved is the Thunder? The records aren’t that dissimilar. The Thunder was 28-20 last season at this point against a tougher schedule.
