Russell Westbrook pulled up for his patented mid-range jump shot from the elbow. When it fell, he glanced at the Thunder bench with a confused look and a smile.
It was an audible, not the play the Thunder wanted, but it didn't matter. Westbrook was in a zone. The next possession he whipped a no-look pass to a cutting Corey Brewer for a layup.
Westbrook was back to his efficient best — a total floor game display in a 115-87 win against the Suns.
Whenever the Thunder's defense produced a stop, Westbrook sped up the court to get the Thunder into its offense quickly, whether it was getting himself into position for a quick post up, or attacking the heart of the Suns' defense to open up the perimeter.
