Billy Donovan’s first experiment with a small-ball lineup was successful.

Hamidou Diallo checked in for Mike Muscala with 4:40 left in the second quarter. Diallo, a shooting guard by trade, instantly became a 6-foot-5 power forward.

He was joined on the floor by point guards Chris Paul, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Dennis Schroder.
