The rat-a-tat of the dueling drums wasn’t quite right. The key word was "dueling." It wasn’t that Jasmine Brown-Jutras and Sarah Stubblefield were in competition. Quite the opposite. The newest Thunder Drummers were learning each other.
The day before, you’d have thought Brown-Jutras, 24, and Stubblefield, 19, were sisters. Sitting in the Thunder’s corporate offices downtown, the two women from different backgrounds were finishing each other’s sentences.
As much chemistry as the two showed at a boardroom table, as the light peeked into the windows of Chesapeake Energy Arena’s west atrium Tuesday, they played on a slightly different beat.
