Domantas Sabonis is weeks removed from his 21st birthday. If he wanted, he could be headed for the beaches of Malaga, Spain, or vacationing with old college buddies from Gonzaga. He's not.
Instead, the 6-foot-11, 240-pounder walked through a door at the Thunder's practice facility wearing a Nike T-shirt which read “Basketball Never Stops.” Sabonis' once-slender face has filled out some since arriving in Oklahoma City last summer, his youth now hidden underneath the beginnings of a full beard.
If Sabonis doesn't think he'll be a leader of the Thunder's summer efforts, he's giving the impression. Even at his age, he'll be one of the Thunder's most NBA-tested players headed to Orlando, the start of a key offseason for the second-year power forward/center.
