John Starks is considered royalty in the most fabled of basketball arenas – Madison Square Garden.
Yet, the New York Knicks legend, 13-year NBA veteran, and Tulsa native talked to every fan that screamed his name before a Thunder-Knicks game in November. He posed for photos, shook hands, even signed a fan's prosthetic leg.
Starks prepped at Tulsa Central and had an all-Oklahoma collegiate experience which took him from Rogers State (Claremore) to Northern Oklahoma College (Tonkawa) to Oklahoma Junior College (Oklahoma City) to Oklahoma State in Stillwater. He took time to speak with The Oklahoman.
