Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the greatest Thunder player of all time, has signed a super maximum contract extension to play in Oklahoma City through the 2030-31 season, when he will be 32. SGA was already signed through 2026-27, and opted for a four-year extension (he could have extend up to five).
The new face of Thunder basketball, Shai has grown into a legend while leading the franchise through its patient, remarkably successful rebuild since being acquired in the Paul George blockbuster of 2019. As I wrote earlier this season, SGA is the kind of cornerstone rarely seen in modern sports:
