Russell Westbrook wins Western Conference Player of the Week

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s hot streak continued even through the off day, this time celebrating their superstar. Earlier this afternoon the NBA announced Russell Westbrook as their Western Conference Player of the Week. The announcement comes only a day after Russ’ incredible 37 points-13 rebounds-14 assists statline against the Eastern Conference’s best team, the Toronto Raptors.

Oklahoma City is currently rolling, a large part due to the reigning League MVP’s play. The OKC Thunder have won six straight games; Westbrook has recorded five straight triple-doubles. He took more than 20 shots only once this past week, instead focusing on the distribution aspect of the point guard position.
