Russell Westbrook Receives Community Assist Award

It’s been a historically-great, award-winning season for MVP candidate Russell Westbrook. But he’s maintained all season long that the only recognition he’s wanted was for his work in the community. The Oklahoma City Thunder have announced that Westbrook’s efforts have been truly recognized as he was awarded the “NBA Cares” Community Assist Award presented by Kaiser Permanente.

NEW YORK, May19, 2015– Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook has received the 2014-15 Seasonlong NBA Cares Community Assist Award presented by Kaiser Permanente in recognition of his countless charitable contributions and efforts, the league announced Tuesday.
