It appears that the Heat’s interest in Chris Paul isn’t dead.
While the Thunder and Heat couldn’t come to terms on a deal for the nine-time All-Star in the summer, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Monday that Miami has a “level of interest” in Paul entering the season. In July, the Thunder traded Russell Westbrook to Houston for Paul, two first-round picks and the rights to two first-round pick swaps.
If a deal is unable to be completed for Paul and the remaining three years and $124 million on his contract, the Thunder feels comfortable entering the season with him on the roster.
