Recap: 3 takeaways from OKC’s 100-95 loss to the Jazz

The Thunder made it closer than a lot of people might have guessed, but ultimately fell 100-95 to the Utah Jazz on opening night. Here are three things to note from the first loss of the season:

The Thunder passed the ball a lot but...

Their passing didn’t result in a lot of advantageous looks. The goal of a ball movement heavy offense is to create seams in the defense so that you already have an edge when you start driving rather than having to create one-on-one. But OKC’s ball movement, while nice to see, didn’t create any edges, and left the team pressing up against the shot clock often, including shot clock violation on their third play of the game.
