NEW ORLEANS — Russell Westbrook shot to the rim on the break, and his layup attempt bounced off the front. New Orleans snagged the rebound and immediately ran down court for a 3-pointer on the fast break.
As soon as the ball went in, the Pelicans had to defend again, as Westbrook was begging for the inbounds pass, racing to the offensive end again to make up for his miss.
For all the fourth-quarter ferocity of Westbrook, not even he could make up for the Thunder's porous 3-point defense in the 123-119 loss Thursday at the Smoothie King Center.
