Royal Ivey, a former NBA guard that spent two seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, has been added to the team’s D-League coaching staff as per general manager Sam Presti.
Presti announced the decision in a recent pre-training camp press conference, explaining that Ivey has “helped us” in the past and they want to return the favor by helping him “start his coaching career.”
Ivey, who played in 61 total games from 2010 to 2014 with the Thunder, will join the OKC Blue.
Presti added the following about the decision to bring aboard Ivey:
