Jonathan Kuminga has embraced the “dirty work role” the Timberwolves asked him to play when he signed with the defensive-minded team in free agency, writes Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic (free link).
Head coach Chris Finch continues to praise Kuminga, calling him a “godsend” last week and saying the Wolves “would be lost without him right now” after Monday’s win over Milwaukee.
“He just continues to play the perfect role,” Finch said. “Just making timely shots. He’s really letting things come to him. You know, I got to find ways now that we are down some bodies to maybe get him some advantage looks, but he’s just kind of doing everything that we need to do, and a lot of it in a timely manner.
