Nick Collison's documentary is more than just a 29-minute, 19-second tribute.
“Mr. Thunder” — a short film on the 15-year franchise icon — starts with the sound of the Chesapeake Energy Arena crowd. The roar grows as “We Want Nick,” grows louder and more audible. It's Collison's last run. He knows this. The crowd senses it too, and reacts accordingly.
Truth is, Collison has approached his entire career as if it could end in an instant.
“If I'm not focused, I'm not going to play well and I'm going to be out of here,” Collison said in the documentary while driving his Ford F-150 down Broadway Extension to Chesapeake Energy Arena.
