Darius Bazley was training for the 2019 NBA Draft and preparing for an internship at New Balance last fall when the Princeton City School District named Tom Burton superintendent.
“I got one phone call from one student,” said Burton, who served as associate superintendent when Bazley attended Princeton High School. “You know who that was?”
It was Bazley, the No. 23 pick in Thursday's NBA Draft who cannot join the Thunder until next month.
“That to me really sums up Darius,” Burton said in a phone interview, “is that attention to detail and understanding of little things.
