The man who molded Steven Adams is tired, but not from coaching teenagers on Las Vegas basketball courts. That's the fun part for Kenny McFadden.
The dialysis? Not so much. The 57-year-old has been making the trip to the desert with the New Zealand Basketball Academy's best basketball talents since he brought Adams over at age 15. But McFadden's never done Vegas under these conditions, dialysis for his failing kidney three times a week in between games. McFadden is tough like Adams, too, putting off a kidney transplant so he could bring kids to a tournament on the other side of the world.
