SAN ANTONIO – Danilo Gallinari and Marco Belinelli were Italy’s leading scorers in the FIBA World Cup just two months ago. On Thursday, they’ll face each other in the Thunder and Spurs first meeting this season.
In Italy’s five World Cup games this year, OKC’s Gallinari led Italy with 17.2 points per game, and San Antonio’s Belinelli ranked just behind him with 15.
“It’s always great,” Gallinari said last week of representing his country. “It’s something I love to do every summer.”
Gallinari and Belinelli also both participated in Basketball Without Borders as teenagers, Gallinari in 2003 and Belinelli the year after.
