All good things must come to an end. So too must all mediocre things, and thus Carmelo Anthony’s time with the Thunder is about to come to a close.
This is for the best for the Thunder. Melo, while diminished, is still a talented player who could be especially useful in an off the bench role. But he made it clear he wouldn’t accept that role in OKC, and as a starter, his ball stopping tendencies hurt the offense while his level of interest in defense went from “below sea level” to “Marianas Trench.
