is already showing off his versatility.
As the 7-footer read a children's book to a wide-eyed set of 40 third-graders in the library of Capitol Hill Elementary on Wednesday, he showed impressive skills with the kids, even for an NBA rookie who won't turn 22 until Sept. 22.
Johnson was back in town Wednesday for part of the Thunder's Reading Timeout, the first player-attended community event of the new season.
“It was a good experience,” Johnson said. “Reading to the kids … when I was younger, I never got that experience.”
One kid asked him if he was 49 years old.
