Billy Donovan coached more than 700 major-college basketball games, he once was a teammate of Bill Cartwright and if you look oh so close, there's some graying around the temples of the guy once known as Billy the Kid.
But no way do you think of Donovan as old. Or Old School.
Sam Presti hired away Donovan from the University of Florida for a couple of reasons. “Tactical competence,” Presti's term, sure. Donovan is a bright basketball mind.
