Another offseason means more maintenance for Alex Abrines.
The Thunder guard underwent what the team called “a successful procedure” on Thursday to address a sports hernia. The surgery was performed by Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia.
Abrines is expected to miss six to eight weeks, after which time he’ll return to “normal offseason activities,” according to a Thunder news release.
The 6-foot-6 Abrines, 24, missed training camp and the first three of Oklahoma City’s four preseason games with a bone bruise in his left knee. He dealt with lingering issues into the season, with soreness sometimes limited to his left knee, sometimes in right one, too.
