Women's basketball | NCAA tournament: Ohio State blows out Buffalo

Ohio State went on a 19-0 run in the first quarter and ran away from Buffalo 88-69 in an opening-round game of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament today in St. John Arena.

Kelsey Mitchell scored 13 of her game-high 27 points in the pivotal run for the third-seeded Buckeyes (28-7). Shayla Cooper added 17 points and Asia Doss 16. Joanna Smith led the 14th-seeded Bulls (20-14) with 23 points.

The Buckeyes will play sixth-seeded West Virginia on Sunday in the second round.
