VIDEO: Police Release Tape Of J.T. Barrett’s Drunk Driving Arrest

Almost two weeks ago, the news broke that Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback J.T. Barrett was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired. Reports later surfaced that he had a BAC of .099, more than the normal legal limit but almost four times the amount for someone who is younger than the legal drinking age, as is Barrett.

Now, we are seeing the police dash cam video of the sobriety check and arrest done by the Columbus Police Department. One of the more surprising things for many after seeing the video obtained by TMZ Sports is that Barrett, who many claim is respectful and polite, played the “I’m the Ohio State quarterback” card while trying to get out of the arrest (around the 1:00 mark):

The next time people want to come down on police in other college cities for the way athletes are treated during incidents like this, remember the Columbus Police Department laughing about the quarterback situation on the field while a drunk 20 year old, who could have seriously harmed other people, was in the back of their squad car.
