Other than his parents, Tim Tebow probably has no stronger advocate than his former Florida football coach Urban Meyer, now at Ohio State. And as Tebow dived into his pro baseball tryout Tuesday, Meyer likely was rooting for him from afar.
“I kind of knew a while back, we chatted (about the baseball attempt),” Meyer said. “He visited here earlier and this actually has been in the works. He's been thinking about it for a while. This didn't just happen overnight.
“And I'm very biased and everybody knows that. And don't count him out.”
Meyer didn’t say that just because in Tebow’s four years at Florida he helped Meyer and the Gators win two national championships (2006 and 2008) while winning the 2007 Heisman Trophy.
