One of the most prolific scorers in Ohio State basketball history passed away on Monday.
1972-73 team captain and three-time first-team All-Big Ten performer Allan Hornyak died at 74.
Hornyak emerged as a local legend at St. John's Central High School in Bellaire, Ohio, before ever taking the floor at Ohio State. He earned the nickname "Bellaire Bomber" for scoring more than 40 points per game as both a junior and senior. He scored 86 points in a single high school game in 1969.
The "Bellaire Bomber" nickname followed him throughout his three-year career with the Buckeyes, where he scored 1,572 points.
