Former Ohio State coach Thad Matta visited Oxford, Mississippi last Friday to discuss the Rebels' head coaching vacancy.
Now, Parrish Alford of The Tulepo Daily Journal reports Matta is no longer a candidate for that vacancy.
A source previously told ESPN Matta would return for the right job, but not any job. Whether it was Matta or the Rebels that decided against the fit remains to be seen.
