Sports | The Mailbox: Two games in short week too many for collegians

Editor: The Buckeyes certainly did not play up to their capability in their home opener, but playing with only a 4 1/2-day interval between games could not have helped.

Where is the NCAA, allowing 18- to 22-year-olds to play in such a short time span? It is dangerous and not taking into account that they are student-athletes as well.

Perhaps the NCAA should change its name to NCMA — the National Collegiate MONEY Association. TV now rules, setting game times and intervals, 4 1/2 days last week and 14 days at the end of October!

There should be a minimum of seven days between games at the college level.
