Ohio State lost to Arizona 2-0 in the completion of a suspended game, then avoided elimination by beating Marist 6-1 in an NCAA softball regional on Saturday in Knoxville, Tenn.
Against Marist, Shelby Hursh threw a four-hitter and allowed the only run in the seventh inning. Hursh struck out seven and walked four as Marist (45-13) was eliminated.
Taylor White had a two-run triple in the first inning and added a solo home run the fourth for OSU (34-19-1), and Emily Clark hit a two-run homer in a three-run fifth.
The Buckeyes face Tennessee (42-15) at noon today, with the loser being eliminated.
