COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State offered four-star athlete Richard LeCounte of Hinesville (Ga.) Liberty County a scholarship when he was a freshman.
The Buckeyes discovered the explosive playmaker while recruiting his former teammate and current Ohio State linebacker Raekwon McMillan.
LeCounte had visited Ohio State a handful of times and was always interested in the Buckeyes, but on Sunday the 5-foot-11, 174-pounder announced his commitment to Georgia on Twitter.
Rated the No. 1 overall athlete in the 2017 class in the 247Sports composite rankings, LeCounte last visited Ohio State on Oct. 17 for the Buckeyes 38-10 win over Penn State.
