Report: J.T. Barrett arrested for driving while impaired

Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett was reportedly arrested early Saturday morning for operating a motor vehicle while impaired.

According to Ohio State website Eleven Warriors, citing two sources within the Columbus Police Department, Barrett was arrested near campus after being spotted attempting to avoid a checkpoint. The 20-year-old was cooperative, according to the website, and a breathalyzer test revealed that his BAC was slightly above Ohio’s legal limit of 0.08.

As he is under 21, Barrett could face a two week suspension under the school’s student-athlete drug and alcohol program, according to the site. According to Eleven Warriors’s Tim Shoemaker, Barrett has already been suspended for the team’s next game.
