OSU Investigation Report: Urban Meyer, Gene Smith “failed to take sufficient management action relating to Zach Smith’s misconduct”

Nearly 12 hours after the Board of Trustees met to discuss the findings of the investigation of Ohio State Buckeyes football coach Urban Meyer, a decision was found: a suspension until Sept. 2, and being suspended from coaching in the first three OSU football games.

Additionally, athletic director Gene Smith is suspended from Aug. 31-Sept. 16.

The investigation, led by former Security and Exchange Commission chair Mary Jo White, concluded that both head coach and AD did not cover-up or condone the conduct of former wide receiver coach Zach Smith, but that both “failed to take sufficient management action relating to Zach Smith’s misconduct.
