Coming into this season, the Ohio State football team had the preseason favorite for the Heisman Trophy. Jeremiah Smith was the leading candidate after he had an incredible run during the College Football Playoff. He firmly established himself as the best player in the country.
Smith has played well, but he might not be the top candidate on the Buckeyes to win the award anymore. That might go to his quarterback, Julian Sayin. Sayin has put up some impressive numbers in his first season as a starting quarterback. The redshirt freshman showed how good he can be in the game against Wisconsin, where he threw for almost 400 yards.
