LeBron James will receive an honorary Ohio State degree this week.
When the Ohio State Board of Trustees meets on Wednesday, it will vote to award an honorary degree to James. He will receive a Doctor of Public Service degree for not just his Hall of Fame basketball career, but his impact off the court in his hometown of Akron and communities across the United States.
“Born in Akron, Ohio, LeBron Raymone James Sr. is a professional basketball player with a dedication to community engagement and improving the lives of children and families through education, opportunities, and community resources,” notes from the Board of Trustees meeting read.
