With the Ohio State Buckeyes reclaiming the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday, I argued on Twitter that while normally I would not get too worked about playoff seeding, the fact that OSU is No. 1 (and likely to remain so if they win out) is a pretty big deal this season.
Normally, I would think it doesn't matter what your rank is, just get into the final four, but this is a sneaky (not so sneaky?) big deal. If OSU wins out, they are almost guaranteed the top spot, avoiding Clemson and LSU until the final.
