Ohio State running back Antonio Williams announces plan to transfer

Today, Ohio State Buckeyes running back Antonio Williams announced that following this month’s spring game, he has decided to transfer, and to continue his football career at the University of North Carolina.

The rising-junior began to see playing time, as the backup to the dual starters Mike Weber and J.K. Dobbins. As a sophomore for the Buckeyes, Williams rushed for 290 yards and three touchdowns. He also had five receptions for 25 yards.

However, with both Weber and Dobbins back for 2018, and with true-freshman Master Teague showing his skills in the spring game, apparently Williams felt that it was in his best interest to continue his collegiate career elsewhere.
